Aruba was practically designed for honeymoons: guaranteed sunshine, adults-only resorts on a world-class beach, dinners in the sand, and just enough adventure to keep the week interesting. Here’s how to plan the romantic version of One Happy Island.
Stay: Eagle Beach, Almost Always
The low-rise Eagle Beach area is honeymoon headquarters โ quieter, wider sand, and home to Bucuti & Tara, the adults-only resort consistently rated among the most romantic in the Caribbean (book far ahead; it sells out months out). Manchebo and Amsterdam Manor are the boutique alternatives. Prefer nightlife at arm’s reach? The Ritz-Carlton anchors the calm end of Palm Beach. Full comparison in Where to Stay.
The Romance Checklist
๐ฅ A private or small-group sunset catamaran sail โ the single most-booked honeymoon experience on the island. ๐ฝ๏ธ Dinner in the sand at Passions on the Beach or front-row at Barefoot (reserve the sunset seating well ahead). ๐ธ A golden-hour photo session at the fofoti trees โ sunrise if you want them to yourselves. ๐๏ธ A day trip to Renaissance Island with the flamingos โ or one night at the Renaissance to guarantee access. ๐ A lazy morning snorkel at Boca Catalina followed by nothing at all.
One Adventure Day
Every great honeymoon needs one story to tell: a private UTV tour to the Natural Pool, horseback riding on the north coast at sunset, or a couples’ scuba intro over the Antilla wreck. Pick one from the activities guide and keep the rest of the week slow.
Timing and Budget Notes
May, June and early December hit the sweet spot: honeymoon weather, thinner crowds, better rates on the boutique resorts. Aruba is not a budget island, but it rewards splurging where it counts โ the room and one unforgettable dinner โ and going local for lunches. More in our budget guide.
