Aruba has some of the best beaches in the Caribbean, and picking the right one can make your whole trip. Because the island’s west and south coasts are calm and swimmable, most days end with easy, warm water. So where should you spread your towel? Below, we rank the best beaches in Aruba and explain exactly what each one is good for.
We live here, and we visit these beaches year-round. As a result, you get honest notes on the sand, the shade, and the crowds — plus a local tip for each spot.

1. Eagle Beach — the best beach in Aruba overall
Eagle Beach is regularly ranked among the finest beaches in the world, and it earns it. The sand is powder-soft, the water stays calm, and the famous fofoti trees lean over the shore for that classic photo. Moreover, the low-rise strip behind it keeps the whole beach feeling open rather than crowded.
Local tip: arrive before 10 a.m., because the shady spots near the fofoti trees go first. Also, bring your own umbrella — natural shade is limited.
2. Palm Beach — best for families and watersports
Palm Beach is the lively, high-rise side of the island. The water is shallow near the shore, so it is great for kids. In addition, jet skis, parasailing, and banana boats line the sand, while restaurants sit just steps away. If you want energy, this is your beach.
3. Baby Beach — the calm lagoon for little kids
Down at the southern tip, Baby Beach is a protected lagoon with barely any waves. The water stays waist-deep for a long way out, so toddlers and nervous swimmers love it. It is a bit of a drive, but the calm makes it worth the trip.
4. Arashi Beach — quiet swims near the lighthouse
Arashi sits near the California Lighthouse at the northwest tip. Because it is slightly out of the way, you will often have space even in high season. There is good snorkeling right off the beach, too.
5. Mangel Halto — the best snorkeling beach in Aruba
Mangel Halto is a mangrove-fringed cove on the south coast, and it is our top pick for snorkelers. Slip in from the small beach, and you will find a coral wall, colorful fish, and clear water. Furthermore, it stays quieter than the main strips, so it feels like a local secret.
6–8. Boca Catalina, Manchebo, and Druif
Boca Catalina is a tiny snorkeling cove near Malmok. Manchebo, meanwhile, is a broad, quiet stretch of Eagle Beach known for sunsets and yoga. Druif rounds out the list with calm water and easy parking. Any of the three works when you want room to breathe.
How to plan your Aruba beach days
Most visitors mix two or three beaches over a week. For example, a lively day at Palm Beach, a slow morning at Eagle Beach, and a snorkel trip to Mangel Halto. Because distances are short, you can even fit two beaches into one day.
- Morning person? Eagle Beach before 10 a.m. is pure calm.
- Traveling with kids? Baby Beach’s waist-deep lagoon wins.
- Snorkelers should head to Mangel Halto or Boca Catalina.
- For sunset, Manchebo’s wide sand is hard to beat.
