The honest notes
The lighthouse itself takes twenty minutes, not two hours — treat it as a stop, never a destination. The surrounding Hudishibana dunes are lovely but hot; consequently, late afternoon is the only civilized time in summer. Nearby Arashi Beach makes the natural before-or-after swim.
Getting there
