Almost everyone who visits Aruba wants to swim in the Natural Pool (Conchi), and almost everyone gets there on a tour. The question is which one: a group jeep safari, a UTV combo, a private jeep, or on foot. Here is what each really costs, what the day feels like, and which one fits your group.

- Group jeep safari: the classic. Land Cruisers or jeeps with 8 to 12 guests, stops at Dos Playa, the caves and the pool. Around $167 per adult, plus the $22 Arikok park fee.
- Private jeep tour: just your group with a local guide, hotel pick-up and a flexible schedule. With our partner ISLA Aruba it is $399 for up to two guests.
- UTV + jeep combo: you drive a UTV on the rugged coast, then switch to a jeep, because UTVs and ATVs are not allowed inside Arikok National Park. From about $269 per vehicle.
- Hike or horseback: from Rancho Daimari on the north coast. Cheapest, but hot and exposed: about 1 mile each way over dunes and volcanic rock.

What a Natural Pool tour day is like
Expect 4 to 5 hours. You bounce over rocky tracks in the heat, stop at viewpoints and caves, then climb down volcanic rock into the calm basin while waves crash over the rim. Most tours give you 30 to 45 minutes in the water. Private tours let you stay longer or arrive before the group trucks.
Which one should you book?
- Couples and honeymooners: private. Same money as a group tour, far better experience.
- Families with kids: private if you want to set the pace and skip the rough bits; group if you are four or more on a tight budget.
- Adrenaline fans: a UTV combo for the driving thrills, then a jeep into the park.
- Fit, budget travelers: hike from Daimari early in the morning with plenty of water.
When the Natural Pool is closed
Rangers close the pool when the north swell is high, most often in winter. Good operators check conditions and reroute or reschedule. Book a morning tour early in your trip so you have backup days.
What to bring
- Water shoes: the rocks are sharp and slippery.
- A swimsuit under your clothes and a small towel.
- Reef-safe sunscreen and a hat; there is almost no shade.
- A mask if you have one; small fish share the pool.
- Cash for tips and drinks.
