Culture Week Takes Over the Island (Sept 19–26)
Culture Week runs from September 19 to 26, and it is one of our favorite weeks of the year. The focus this time is “training the trainers,” so local artists and educators pass down dance, theater, singing, handicrafts, and culinary traditions to the next generation. There are lectures too, aimed at documenting Aruban culture for future generations. Meanwhile, workshops are open around the island, giving visitors a rare chance to see tradition being taught firsthand.

Aruba Art Fair Turned San Nicolas Into a Gallery
The 9th annual Aruba Art Fair took over San Nicolas from September 11 to 13, and the results are still turning heads. Over 100 local and international artists painted new murals under this year’s theme, Nature × Mankind. Because San Nicolas is already known as the island’s mural capital, the fresh artwork gives our “Sunrise City” even more reason for a visit. So if you’re planning a trip soon, add a walking tour of the murals to your list.

Tourism Leaders Talk “Reciprocal Tourism” at AGTC 2026
The Aruba Global Travel Conference ran from September 14 to 18, bringing more than 80 international delegates to the island. The Aruba Tourism Authority introduced the idea of “reciprocal tourism,” a vision where visitors and the island benefit each other equally. Success, organizers said, should be measured by the value tourism creates, not just visitor numbers. Also, delegates joined a ceramics workshop with Design Academy Aruba to help preserve traditional techniques.

Fall Travel Demand Is Climbing Fast
New numbers show fall travel to Aruba is up 53.93 percent this year, and hurricane season has a lot to do with it. Because Aruba sits south of the traditional storm belt, September and October stay reliably sunny here. So more travelers are choosing our island precisely when other Caribbean destinations feel riskier. However, availability is tightening, so it’s worth booking sooner rather than later.

New Flights Are Making Aruba Easier to Reach
Air connectivity keeps growing, with Air Transat launching a new nonstop route from Montreal starting this December. Delta is also adding fresh service from Detroit, giving Midwest travelers a more direct path to the island. These routes join a wave of new connections announced throughout the year. So wherever you’re flying from, getting to Aruba is getting simpler.

Aruba Fashion Week Gears Up for Casting Day
Aruba Fashion Week is building toward its next big moment, with model search casting set for September 26 at JOIA Aruba by Iberostar. Local talent will take the stage, because the event puts homegrown designers and models front and center. It’s a good reminder that Aruba’s creative scene reaches well beyond the beach.
